Species
Common name - The name most commonly used in a region to refer to a specific species.
Length type - The specific measurement used to track the size of a fish, such as total length, fork length, or standard length.
Depth range - The range of water depths where a species is commonly found.
Common length - The average length of a species typically caught by anglers.
IUCN vulnerability status - The conservation status of a species as classified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), indicating its risk of extinction (e.g., Least Concern, Vulnerable, Endangered). However, this doesn't necessarily mean the species is endangered in your specific area.
Habitat, Distribution and Behaviour - Information about where a species lives, its geographic distribution, and its natural behavior, including feeding and migration patterns.
Edibility - A rating and description of how suitable a species is for consumption.
Regulations
Fishing season - The time of year when fishing for a particular species is legal.
Daily bag limit - The maximum number of a specific species that an angler is allowed to catch and keep in one day.
Possession limit - The maximum number of a specific species that an angler is allowed to have in their possession at any time, including in storage.
Catch & release - A conservation practice where fish are caught but then released back into the water to help maintain healthy fish populations.
Regulation location - The location from which the Species & Regulations feature pulls and displays data. For example, if your regulation location is set to Alabama, you will see their local fishing laws and species information.
Unregulated species - Species that have no specific regulations, such as bag limits or fishing seasons. For these species, default state regulations (typically lenient) apply, and are also covered in the app.
