This article explains how your Fishing Points data and subscription are backed up, how they sync across devices, and what to do if you lose access or change devices.
Data backup & sync
Your saved data and Premium subscription are linked to your Fishing Points account email. As long as you're signed in with the same account, your data will:
- Automatically back up
- Sync or transfer across all your devices
🔁 Manually sync your data if you notice missing data or recently made changes that aren’t showing. You can manually trigger a sync:
- Open the Fishing Points app
- Go to Menu > Manage account & profile
- Tap “Sync Data”
- Tap “Sync Again”
Recover lost data or subscription
If you’ve lost access to your Premium subscription or saved data, it’s usually because you're signed in with the wrong account or not at all.
✅ Check the logged-in account
You can verify which account you're using (if any) following the steps below:
- Open the Fishing Points app > Menu > Manage account & profile
- Check your email address displayed under your name
If you are not currently signed in, please sign in to your account before proceeding.
If you're logged into an incorrect account, log out and sign in with your main account to which all your data is bound. See Signing in and logging out for how to sign in or switch between accounts.
If you're logged into the correct account and still missing data, then please contact us at support@fishingpoints.app with your account email address, and we’ll help you restore it.
➡️ Transfer your data to a new device
If you’ve switched to a new device, even to a different platform (for example, from Android to iPhone or vice versa), you can easily restore your data.
The above still applies: Simply sign in with the same Fishing Points account you used on your previous device. Once you sign in, your subscriptions and saved data will automatically sync and be available on your new device.
💡Tip: Make sure you use the same sign in method (email, Google, Apple, etc.) that you originally used to ensure your data is restored correctly.
