- Blue represents a light drizzle
- Green indicates moderate precipitation
- Yellow and orange show heavier rain
- Red/pink patches reveal intense rainfall or storms
Using Weather Radar to plan your fishing
Experienced anglers use the Weather Radar for several important purposes:
- Safety: Track approaching storms to stay safe on the water
- Timing productive periods: Fish are often most active just before or after rain
- Locating weather fronts: The boundaries between weather systems can be a good fishing hotspot
- Planning spots: If you see rain approaching a specific area, you can relocate to a drier spot
Understanding Weather Radar Limitations
To make the most of the Weather Radar, keep in mind:
- Weather Radar data requires an active internet connection to update
- It shows precipitation, but not all weather conditions (like wind, clouds or lightning)
- Always combine Weather Radar information with official weather warnings for complete safety
